Williams Day

so to explain this picture, Will's nurse was trying to make him feel better and put all the gloves on him before his ultra sound. When he started to feel better he thought it was really cool. And yes we came home with this fashion gown.
So Will started crying of pains in his tummy. I tried all the usual things, go potty eat something, rubbing his back, nothing seemed to work. His volume of crying was getting out of control almost screaming my tummy my tummy so I packed the kids in the car and picked up Dan and headed for the ER. By the time we got there he seemed to be feeling better so I turned around and headed home. I then decided to try and see if he would walk around a store. I figured if he was in that much pain it would happen again. So we went to Wal-Mart and we didn't even get around the first corner heading towards the fish when he started to dry heave and cry again. So we rushed him to the bathroom thinking he was going to throw up. After spending a few minutes in the bathroom with him doubled over in pain we again loaded up everyone in the car and headed for the ER. On the way Dan decided that we wouldn't get in the ER any faster then we would going to Urgent Care. So we went to Urgent Care, NOT prepared in the least for a 4 hour trip. When we got there they checked him in right away called us almost immediately to do the insurance stuff and then put an urgent card on his paper and they called him back to the room. This is a first for us. We were thinking yea! a quick trip. HA HA joke was on me. They did a UA (urine Annals) then did some blood work and gave him some morphinethen he had an ultra sound. He fell asleep at this point and Dan and the kids came back to the room with me. After awhile of waiting I sent Dan and the kids to get something to eat. Will kept sleeping and kept getting hotter. I had them check his temp again and it had gone up. They were going to give him something for this but were waiting on the surgeon to see what they wanted to do before they could give him anything. After 6 hours we were sent to the hospital. We were told to go to the Oregon Imagine center. We went there and found out they do not do CT scans on the weekends. So we had to go to the ER after all and they had him already check in to there system. By the time we had the consent form filled out he was on his way up to radiology for a CT. We got there waited for just a few minutes and then went to the room. they had hooked him up with an IV before we left urgent care and had to give him some saline in his IV and some other meds before they could start including an enema. He was so brave he didn't hardly cry. Then we talked about the CT and how it looked like a big donut. He held really still while they looked at his stomach. Then we waited again and then the urgent care Dr. called us at the radiology room to tell us that they didn't see anything for appendix and that we could go home. After a good bathroom trip he was trying to have energy and run then he was talking and playing and feeling better. If he has any more problems then he will be admitted later and or have to see the Dr. on Monday. We picked up the other kids at the nelsons who were so kind as to rescue them for the long 7 1/2 hour day at urgent care. After we got home Kiersten spiked a fever so kid #3 is down with this nasty painful bug.

Ladawn I had no idea. Is all ok now? It's scary watching your child go through that kind of thing. We did it last summer and I don't want a repeat anytime soon!

I'm sorry to hear about all that. Goodness! We had a similar thing happen with Everett and it turned out fine but it was scary. Hope everyone is feeling better very soon!
