Time flys when your busy and realize you haven't stopped to blog
I can't believe that my last post was all about begging for Kiersten to go to Seaside. Since I am so far behind this will be a quick catch up post of the summer and our exciting events.
We started the summer off with 11 kids walking to the park for play time / free lunch and just playing together. This prepared us to go and spend a week in Seaside Oregon where we got to watch the Miss Oregon Pageant. But mostly we got to spend the best week ever with Ruby my aunt and the kids had a blast. We went beach combing, to the aquarium, OMSI pageant, candy man every day for our free spin, playing in the arcade and shopping, flying kites, walking and having so much fun . Ian became harry potter for a day and they all loved playing hp trivia as well as pretending to be HP people. they even had magic wands. Man Ruby got us all into dog watching it was fun to see how many different dogs we could find. I think the boys loved the hand crank train ride and the hat store the best. OR maybe the beach and swimming. Anyway it was fun. Then we came back home to lots of kids and lots of walks and lots of play time. We got to see some of our wonderful friends from Washington and play at Papa's pizza with them. We love the Leder's enjoy all the moments we get to have with them. This is all jumbled up in the order it comes out since that is how my brain works most of the time. For our Wards 4th of July activity we had a pancake breakfast and bike parade. This was a huge hit and first time for the kids to get to decorate there bikes and ride them. They enjoyed this so much. We had a yard sale that is always fun. We all accomplished a 5k when we joined with our friends in support of there son Caleb. It was such a great experience for all of us. The kids loved it so much they wanted to do it everyday. This was terrific and gave us a wonderful opportunity to do it again for Kiersten's 9th birthday. We parked at skinners butte park walked to vrc mall and watched the free movie then with all her friends walked back to the park to play and enjoy the beautiful day. Then we went school shopping and prepared for back to school. I am amazed now that what seemed like a never ending busy summer has come to and end and school is now in full swing. Kiersten loves her teacher and comes home so excited everyday. I just hope it continues. she is so big now 9 and 4th grade. Ian practically runs out the door every morning to catch the bus he is so excited he can't stand the wait at home until he can go. He even begs to eat at school so he doesn't have to waste a moment of time. 7 and 2nd grade. Then my William. first he shouldn't be old enough to be gone to school. He is my little buddy and 2nd they should not have afternoon kinder for guys who want to be in school with the big kids. He wants to pack a lunch and go to school an hour early everyday so he can be a big kid at school. He is a clock watcher when do i get to go when's it my turn why isn't it time yet. I am so glad that he loves school just as much as the other too. Today they got to go on a search for Chester the raccoon who lives in there room. They went all over the school looking for him. And the first day he came home and had to whisper the kissing hand story to me cuz he didn't want the tots to hear. It was so cute. This is going to be a fantastic adventure for my wonderful little/big ones. Our next excitement happens next week when Grammy Ann and Grandpa come to visit. We are going to take them to the Portland Pirate festival and lots of other fun things in our fair city. going to be great.
