a tale of 3 rings

A tale of 3 rings and I don't mean the circus

once upon a time May/June 1995 a boy fell in love with a girl.  He wanted to marry this girl and went out to find a ring to ask her with.  A few weeks later with ring in hand he asked this girl to dinner in Leavenworth Washington. 

They took the short drive from there home in Wenatchee and went to dinner.  She wore a bran new dress and he was nervous.  The restaurant they went to was in the basement and had an accordion player playing music for all to hear.   After dinner they went for a walk the girl was stubborn and didn't want to walk by the water

after a few minutes he convinced her to go down.  He wanted to sit and she wasn't tired enough to sit yet.  But did anyway,  they sat and looked at the water and finally he said, " this is scary" and she said, "don't be scared"  then he pulled a box out of his pocket and asked her to marry him on July 22 1995

he gave her the cutest ring she had ever seen it was a very tiny heart shaped diamond in a gold setting.  Sadly the girl has big fingers and the ring didn't fit so she put it on her pinkie and strolled away with the boy happily.

the girl and the boy went to the jewelry store to look at wedding rings.  The deal was that she would return the ring she had and get the one she would have for the rest of her life.  She put 3 different rings on 3 different fingers and asked the boy which one he liked best.  the choices were 1- a round diamond 2- a bigger heart shaped diamond and 3- a marquise cut diamond.  He choose the marquise cute that looked like this.

only hers was again in gold with a few smaller diamonds on each side. 

they got married on Sept 22 1995.  They lived happily in her apartment and were getting ready for there first holidays together.  Halloween , Thanksgiving and finally Christmas.  It was December 22 1995 and the boy was super excited and wanted the girl to go back to Leavenworth with him.  A 3 month anniversary and early Christmas present.  So they went.  She didn't wear proper shoes for snow and he once again wanted to walk down by the river.  Walking in the snow with slick shoes and going down the same slope they went down before wasn't appealing to the girl .  So after being stubborn again they went down to the same bench as before.  He pulled out her Christmas present and she was excited it was another small box. 

He said, " when we gave the ring back i felt bad and immediately started to buy it again for you " So I got my ring back. 

The 3rd ring

So the girl opened the box and found a beautiful tiny round diamond ring.  The girl didn't say anything about the different rings and was so happy to have her ring back. 

to today we celebrate our 15 year 3 month anniversary of the 3 rings. and marriage. 

after 14 years I finally got a heart ring back.  It is beautiful and I love my husband for all he does for me.  He doesn't need to buy my things to make me happy but he does it because he truly loves me and wants to show it .  Also I think he gives me things to let others know that I belong to him alone and no one else.  Truely a romantic a heart and I will be his forever .  Thanks Dan I love you yesterday, today and forever
